In reference to the Gordon Memorial Health Services’ Policy on Visitation:
Visitors are welcome at Gordon Memorial Hospital.
When a patient is admitted, they will receive a document explaining their rights, including visitation rights. These include the following:
Patients have the right to choose who visits them. This can include a spouse, partner (including same-sex partners), family member, or friend. Patients may also change or withdraw this choice at any time.
All visitors are treated equally. Visitation will not be limited or denied based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability.
We honor the patient’s preferences. Visitors are allowed based on what the patient wants, and all visitors have equal privileges.
Some restrictions may apply. In certain medical situations, a provider or charge nurse may need to limit visitation. If this happens, we will explain the reason whenever possible before care begins.
Our goal is to create a welcoming, safe, and healing environment for all patients and their loved ones.
