Before Surgery
Referral and Scheduling- Once your provider refers you to us for surgery, someone from our team will call you to schedule a consultation with one of our surgeons. If surgery is part of your treatment plan, we will then schedule the procedure and provide you with detailed instructions.
Preoperative Physical (History & Physical Exam) – You’ll need to complete a physical exam with your primary care provider 7 to 10 days before surgery. This exam helps make sure your body is ready for the procedure and may include:
- A physical assessment
- Blood work or imaging
- A review of your current medications
Pre-Surgery Instructions – We will provide personalized instructions specific to your surgery, including:
- When to stop eating or drinking (fasting)
- Whether you should take or stop certain medications
- What to bring with you on the day of surgery
- What time to arrive and where to go
If you lose your instructions or have questions, please call our Surgery Department at 308-337-4186.
