At GMHS, we aim to make your admission process smooth and supportive. Whether you’re scheduled for a procedure, being admitted through the ER, or transitioning to swing bed care, our team is here to help.
Hospital Services That Require Admission
- Observation– Short-term outpatient stays (up to 48 hours).
- This level of care allows our medical team to monitor a patient’s condition, perform necessary tests, and determine whether they need further treatment (inpatient admission) or if the patient can be safely discharged.
- Acute Stays– Short-term inpatient stays.
- This level of care is for patients who are seriously ill, recovering from surgery, or experiencing a sudden change in their health that requires close monitoring and treatment by our medical team.
- Swing Bed Services– Extended Inpatient stays.
- This level of care is for patients who no longer require acute hospital treatment but still need skilled nursing or therapy before going home. These stays typically last up to 20 days and help patients safely transition from the hospital to home.
- Some Surgical Procedures– Case by case basis.
- Depending on the type of surgery, some patients may be admitted for a short inpatient stay following their procedure. This allows our care team to closely monitor recovery and ensure a safe discharge.
