Gordon Memorial Health Services Swing Bed Services
When would I need Swing Bed Services?
An ideal setting for you if you no longer need the level of medical care provided in an acute care hospital, but still need skilled nursing and therapy before returning home. Swing Bed is utilized after major surgery or additional care after three days of acute care. Swing Bed is designed to assist patients in restoring and improving health to fullest capacity.
What services are included?
Swing Bed Rehabilitation services include occupational therapy, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy. These therapies are designed to restore functional abilitiesand to improve quality of life to those with physical impairments or dissabilities. Patients who have had joint surgery, cardiac procedures, lung surgery, or respiratory illness, strokes, complex wound therapy, or other debilitating conditions can benefit from rehabilitation services prior to going home or to the next level of care.
What are Swing Bed admission requirements
- Three midnight acute care hospital stay within thirty days prior to admittance into the swing bed program.
- Stable medical status.
- Physician order and Insurance authorization.
