Jayne Nelson joined Gordon Memorial Hospital District in June 2026 and provides primary care and wound care services for patients of all ages. She is committed to helping patients achieve their best possible health through compassionate, personalized care and evidence-based treatment.
Jayne earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration from Nebraska Methodist College in Omaha, Nebraska, in 2019. She is an experienced family nurse practitioner with specialized training in wound care and has cared for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Throughout her career, Jayne has focused on the assessment, treatment, and management of acute and chronic wounds, including surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, pressure injuries, vascular and arterial wounds, neuropathic ulcers, and other complex wound conditions. She works closely with patients to promote healing, prevent complications, and improve quality of life.
Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Jayne worked as a registered nurse in critical care settings, including burn trauma, cardiac care, and intensive care units. Her experience caring for critically ill patients has given her a strong clinical foundation and a comprehensive understanding of patient care.
Jayne believes in building meaningful relationships with her patients and takes a collaborative approach to healthcare. She enjoys partnering with individuals and families to develop treatment plans that support long-term health, healing, and wellness.
