Our Benefits
Subsidized Child Care
In August of 2023 Gordon Memorial Hospital District opened Busy Bees Childcare Center. Busy Bees offers age appropriate developmentally sound activities to encourage learning and creativity. Full-time GMHD employees are eligible for childcare coverage at a heavily discounted rate.
Heath Insurance
Gordon Memorial Hospital District provides three different Medica plans offering comprehensive care with varying benefits and premium costs. Both of the HDHP options are HSA eligible.
- PPO $1000 Deductible Plan
- $3500 Deductible HDHP
- $5000 Deductible HDHP
Health Savings Account
Combined with the High-Deductible Health Plan, an employee can set up a Health Savings Account (HSA) which is designed exclusively for covering medical expenses incurred by the employee and their dependents. Contributions are run through payroll on a pre-tax basis and Gordon Memorial Hospital District will match a set dollar amount per year.
Flex Spending Account
The flexible spending account (FSA) is a tax-advantaged savings account that works by lowering your taxable income and saving taxes on qualified purchases made with your FSA. This account allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars, via payroll deductions, to be used for qualified expenses you anticipate incurring.
Dependent Care Account
Gordon Memorial Hospital District offers a Dependent Care (flex spending) Account to help employees manage the costs of childcare or care for eligible dependents while they work. This benefit allows team members to set aside pre-tax dollars to cover qualified dependent care expenses, including daycare, after-school programs, and elder care.
Dental Insurance
GMHD offers eligible employees dental coverage through Guardian at no cost to the employee. This coverage provides benefits beyond those included in the medical insurance plans.
Vision Insurance
GMHD provides eligible employees with vision insurance through Guardian at no cost to the employee. This coverage is separate from the medical insurance plan.
Life Insurance
Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance is provided through Guardian at no cost to the employee. Additional insurance coverage for employees, spouses, and dependents is available as a voluntary election and come with an additional cost.
Retirement Plan
Gordon Memorial Hospital District offers a OneAmerica retirement plan to help employees plan for a secure financial future.
You are eligible to participate immediately, and after one year of employment, you become eligible for employer contributions. The plan is fully vested after 5 years, allowing you to build long-term savings with confidence.
Voluntary Short-Term Disability
Voluntary Short-Term Disability provides you with a source of income in the event that you are unable to work due to an injury, illness, or following the birth of a child. If you work 30+ hours per week, you are eligible to elect short-term disability coverage. Your per pay period cost and weekly benefit amount varies based on salary.
Voluntary Long-Term Disability
Voluntary Long-Term Disability Insurance replaces a portion of your income when you are unable to work for greater than 90 days due to illness or injury. This coverage provides a monthly benefit amount that varies based on your salary.
Voluntary AFLAC Insurance
GMHD offers employees the opportunity to enroll in AFLAC voluntary benefits, run through payroll, which can equal up to a 25% savings. Policies available are accident, dental, vision, short- term disability, cancer, heart attack/ stroke, life insurance, and juvenile life insurance.
Paid Time Off
At Gordon Memorial Hospital District, we value work-life balance and the well-being of our team. Eligible employees receive Paid Time Off (PTO) to use for vacation, holidays, personal time, or illness. PTO is accrued based on hours worked and increases with length of service.
