Visitor/Patient  General Information:

All visitors, patients, vendors, clients of Gordon Memorial Hospital will be screened for symptoms or recent exposure to COVID-19  prior to entry to the facility at one of two entry points: Main entrance at the front lobby or the Emergency Room Entrance. Clinic patients and visitors will be screened at the front entry of the clinic.

Masks are required in our healthcare facilities for those ages 2 years and older while in the facility and will be provided at no charge at the screening locations.

If you are experiencing signs/symptoms of COVID-19  and need medical care, are seeking testing for a recent exposure to someone with COVID-18  or are concerned you may have COVID-19, please call your provider at the clinic in advance of your visit.  If you need emergency medical services please go to our Emergency Room. 

Signs/ Symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • Fever (greater than 100.4 F)
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing
  • Recent unexplained loss of taste or smell
  • Muscle Pain or Body Aches
  • Headache
  • Sore Throat
  • Nausea/ Vomiting
  • Diarrhea



Temporary Visitation Restrictions:

Patients with an appointment at Gordon or Rushville Rural Health Clinics, Radiology Department, Laboratory, and Specialty Clinic  or a scheduled outpatient infusion or surgery may have one adult accompany them.  


Non-COVID 19 admitted patients of Gordon Memorial Hospital may have two visitors at time, minors must be age 14 and older, with a maximum of 4 different visitors throughout the day. Arrangements may be made for end of life patients.


Non-COVID 19 emergency room patients of GMH may have one adult accompany them.


Suspected or Confirmed COVID-19 Positive Patients admitted to admitted to the Hospital  will not be allowed visitors unless the patient is a minor who requires the presence of the parent/ legal guardian.  Arrangements may be made for end-of-life patients. 


COVID positive patients admitted for an outpatient infusion for the treatment of COVID-19 may not have a visitor accompany them, unless the patient is a minor and requires presence of the parent or legal guardian.



Entry after regular business hours:

All visitors must enter through the emergency room entrance between 5:00 PM and 7:00 AM Monday through Friday, and all day on Saturday and Sunday. This is to ensure all visitors to the hospital are being screened upon entrance to the hospital and are wearing a mask. The entrance to our Emergency Room is located on the  West side of the Hospital along 9th Street.
