Tuesday, December 22, 2015

Gordon Memorial Hospital Foundation recently received a $10,000 donation. Famer’s Coop has donated $5,000 and the funds were matched by CoBank.
The donation was made in part to help support Gordon Memorial Health Services. “The donation from Farmer’s Coop and CoBank will be used to help our CT project this year for the Hospital,” stated Gordon Memorial Hospital Foundation President Tyler Banks. This year the Gordon Memorial Hospital Foundation has chosen the CT Renovation as their project. “The Hospital received a $400,000 grant for the machine, but the room itself still needs $200,000. Renovations include electrical, HVAC and the foundation need updated,” stated Banks
Established in 1918, Famer’s Coop is a patron owned cooperative that offers agronomy, feed and grain with locations in Hemingford, Hay Springs and Gordon. “We made this contribution because we feel local access to quality health care facilities and services is very important for the community and surrounding area.  Our employees and customer-owners live and work in the area served by Gordon Memorial Health Services and we all have an interest in doing what we can to support that local access on into the future.  Cobank also recognizes this and has been generous in their support of this project,” stated Dale Anderson, Famer’s Coop President/CEO. Farmer’s Coop established relationship with Cobank fit perfectly for this. “Cobank is a cooperative Farm Credit system bank that has been the bank for Farmer’s Coop – and most of the other cooperatives in Nebraska and across the United States – for decades.  They have a matching funds program to leverage the contributions by local cooperatives such as Farmers Coop to help with local non-profit community projects.  The philosophy supports the idea that the local cooperatives know where the money would be utilized the best,” stated Anderson
“We graciously thank Farmer’s Coop and CoBank for their donation! We challenge area businesses to step forward for this project.” Stated Banks, “the CT renovation is going to be really great for this community”.
